'It's the simple things in life that are the most extraordinary.' — Paulo Coelho
I long for Mondays,
another time, other year,
No cares, nor fears,
nor rules to adhere.
Perhaps a random night,
the year before,
Or the prelude,
that night at the bookstore.
Your kisses and charms
had me on the hook,
Like a page turner,
steamy romance in a book.
Hungry eyes, sweet lips,
keep wanting more,
Entre las sábanas,
canciones de amor.
Sweet memories,
sensational pleasures,
Tucked away in mind
and heart to treasure.
Sufficiently better,
your state was back then,
Till the pain set in,
you vanished again.
Wishing it away,
never helped I know,
To the beach for reprieve,
I’d say, “let’s go.”
Can’t imagine your pain,
but conveyed empathy,
The aches, dull or sharp
piercing extremities.
All I could do was show up
when you’d let me,
Embrace, kiss and
tease with pisco or tea.
Those playful carefree
nights less frequent,
Pain and circumstance
led some descent.
So life goes on,
time again passed us by,
In some other arms,
left wondering why.
Our force is magnetic, a
nd beyond our control,
Always find our way back,
for another stroll.
For you my arms
(and legs) ever open,
It’s like a spell that
cannot be broken.
Re-connection made,
but we both need healing,
Near or far, can’t escape
the good feeling.
Distance it seems,
the barrier for now,
La mejor palabra
parece ser ciao.
Hello or goodbye,
the door lingers open,
The passion draws
hard and wet like the ocean.
In months ahead
uncertain future awaits,
In this great big world,
so much to create.
Regardless if we’re
apart or together,
Know this my love,
I do hope you feel better.
Que sus tiempos sean
más ágiles y libres,
Those Monday memories
a time of less stress,
Sweet recollections
of all times before,
And oh that night we met,
at the bookstore...
