"Love is never wasted, for its value does not rest upon reciprocity." C.S. Lewis

Once loved a man From a faraway land Together, no plans But I did not care

He promised no love Thick skin, too tough Never giving enough Neither here nor there

Had glimpses inside Under masks of pride Emotions hidden, untried All the while, I’m aware

We’d entangle in fun Pleasured, undone Once again, he’d run Peace out, take care

Come and play some more As the start, the bookstore Ups, downs and heart soars This unrequited affair

All things end eventually Love, death and reality Foresight paved with clarity Open hearts should be shared

My love's out there I know With a heart that overflows True love that can grow No more judgment impaired
